I saw him at a free outdoor show at an Oyster Festival in Milford, along with whatever Kantner was calling the group at the time. He sounded fine to me, although that was, probably six or seven years ago, now.
Ambrosia came on first and served as the house band throughout. They started with ‘Nice Nice Nice’ and ‘You’re the Only Woman’, then introduced Bob Welch who seemed to be having a ball playing ‘Hypnotized-Ebony Eyes-Sentimental Lady’ and ‘Oh Well’. We then got ‘How Much I Feel’ before Marty was introduced, who was wearing good Gucci Shoes thru ‘Hearts-With Your Love-Miracles-Count On Me’ and ‘Runaway’. ‘Holdin On To Yesterday’ and ‘Biggest Part of Me’ were next, then Edgar Winter finished us off with ‘Frankenstein-Free Ride’ and ‘Tobacco Road’.
My connection’s having some trouble with that now, but I look forward to watching it later. So much has been written and said about Abbey Road, and not enough about the Decca studios at Broadhurst Gardens, which were responsible for just as many fascinating and iconic recordings.
I loved watching it too. Tom Jones rocking out on ‘Lucille’? Way killer! Anyone who only thinks of him as all tight trousers and bum twitching with no substance will quickly find out he can really rock. At least back then!A local store just got in all of these Japan releases. Don’t remember the price, but they most surely have all titles.I was somewhat tempted to get Hunky Dory, but bought some other stuff instead.
The store was packed. I guess old-fashioned Utahns still buying physical Gucci Sneakers.
